Arracacha, Arrecate, Peruvian Parsnip, Arracacia xanthorrhiza

Sorry, I can’t send to WA, TAS or NT!

Starchy yumminess, pretty enough for the front garden. Easy perennial plant.

$16.50

5 in stock

Arracacha is pure starchy yumminess and despite the English name, it does not taste like a parsnip at all. The main edible part is the root and the edible leaves taste honestly a bit too much like too-strong celery in moderation it’s OK.

After harvesting arracacha root the crown is split up into more plants and replanted. Arracacha is definitively pretty enough for the front garden. Arracacha grows in the sun and even in part-shade. The only drawback is the maturing time of 10-14 months. I could not wait and harvested earlier, so my tubers were smaller.

The plants are in round pots 5 cm in diameter, which means I have to charge a bit more to make up for the increased postage.
