This yarrow is Native to the coast of Oregon and California and  apparently the largest flowered yarrow in the world. The flowers are large, but not as outstandingly large as described. However, the scent is very different from the common yarrow, being much stronger. I would assume that the medicinal properties might be the same, by the American Indians the coastal yarrow was used as an astringent, hemostatic (stops bleeding) and antibacterial. This is a very good herb for woodworkers and husbands with chainsaws. Yarrow has also many uses in the garden.

Yarrow prefers full sun and well drained soil. The flowers are white.
