Very ornamental, medicinal and ethnobotanical plant.
It is hardy to at least -5C but dies down in winter in these conditions. Historic herbal use include: upper respiratory infection, fever, headache, high blood pressure, hepatitis, muscle cramps and liver stagnation.
Externally it the tea was used for healing, pain-relieving itching, acne and eczema.
