The genus Thymus contains about 350 species of aromatic plants a in the mint family. They are native to temperate regions in Europe, North Africa and Asia.
Thyme is an easy to grow, evergreen perennial which requires little to no care, thrives in poor soil and hot, dry conditions. It is well behaved in the garden, looks nice in rockleries or between stepping stones,as an edging plant or you can even plant it in stone walls.
