Greek Oregano Herb Plant, Origanum vulgare ssp. hirtum

About This Plant

Greek Oregano (Origanum vulgare ssp. hirtum) is a highly aromatic Mediterranean perennial herb prized for its robust, pungent flavour and rich essential oils. It stands out from common oregano varieties with stronger aroma, more intense flavour, and higher oil content, making it a top choice for herb gardens and culinary uses.

This hardy herb is also valued for its health benefits, including antioxidant, antibacterial, and digestive-support properties. In addition, Greek oregano is perfect for rockeries, edging, and low-maintenance gardens, thanks to its compact growth habit and drought tolerance. It is sometimes available at our Tea Gardens nursery, depending on seasonal stock.
