Our sandpaper figs are still quite small, maybe 5 cm tall.

The sandpaper fig is the best tasting native fig. It can grow to about 15 meters but can easily be pruned to any size for pots or bonsai.

The sandpaper fig can tolerate poor soils and grows quite well in our poorly drained clay soil. It grows in sun or shade, however bears less fruit in shade. Can be grown along watercourses.

Aborigines used the rough leaves as a sandpaper and the bark for string.

All figs have an aggressive root system, either grow it in a pot or keep away from the house and pipes!

Sandpaper fig plants are sold in 40 mm forestry tubes. They are around 10 cm at the time of writing.
