Okinawan spinach is an ultra low-maintenance edible green and groundcover. It thrives in warm and wet conditions, does best in tropical and subtropical climates but is quite happy in cooler conditions as long as there is no frost.
Okinawan spinach can be grown in sun with ample water or part shade. It is also a good choice for growing in pots.
Okinawan spinach is very nutritious and can be eaten raw or cooked.
There is no research done on this plant, but it is likely to have similar properties than gynura procumbens which lowers blood pressure, blood sugar and cholestorol.
