Shipping & Delivery

When we ship:

  • Plants are shipped within Australia only, not to WA and not to TAS!!
  • Orders must be placed before Thursday, 5 pm, to be sent the following week. 
  • We ship on Mondays or Tuesdays every week.
  • If we are away and pause the sending, we will announce this on our webpage.
  • All parcels are sent with Australia Post Express.

Plant Size

  • We send out healthy plants; however, due to the postage rates, they are smaller than what we sell in our shop.
  • Depending on the conditions in your garden, for some plants it might be advisable to grow them on in bigger pots before planting out.
  • Product photos are for display purposes only (for plants, this is generally to show the mature flowering form) and do not in any way reflect the actual plant you will receive.

Most of our plants are sent in the following pot sizes, but the pot size might vary.

  • small 4 cm wide and 8 cm high.
  • Medium 5 cm wide and 12 cm high (forestry tube), this is my preferred pot and used in for most plants.
  • Large 6.5 cm wide and 16 cm high.

Shipping Policies:

  • Australia Post may deliver the parcel to your property, or a parcel card will be left.  We do not take responsibility for damage to items when parcels are not picked up from the local Australia Post outlet.
  • We do not take responsibility for incorrect postal addresses. No refunds or replacements will be given.
  • Once the tracking number shows that the parcel is delivered, delivery is assumed.
  • Please unpack your plants immediately upon arrival. Do not repot your plants straight away, leave them for at least 2-4 weeks to recover from the stress of transit before adding the stress of repotting. 

Shipping Rates

We do not charge for packaging or handling. The rates charged are purely Australia Post rates. I would love to charge less for shipping! Shipping rates are subject to change, but are shown at checkout.

  • 1-2 plants $ 15.95
  • 3-5 plants $ 20.95
  • 6-8 plants $ 24.95
  • 10-18 plants $ 34.95

We introduced two new rates for seeds. These rates are for seeds only. If you buy any amount of seed packets with plants, there is no extra postage for the seeds charged.

There are two flat rates for seeds depending on whether they are dry seeds or perishable seeds that are moist-packed. I will send them in an express parcel because this is the fastest way to get them to you.

  • Flat rate seeds only, dry seeds: $ 1.70 untracked letter
  • Flat rate seeds only, moist seeds: $ 13.20 express post.

I will sell all seeds for a short period of time only, especially the moist-packed ones, which are harvested and sent immediately – hurry, they won’t be available for long!

Returns & Refunds

  • Refunds on shipped products will not be given unless they were not as described or fail to meet quality standards. The complaint must be emailed to us within 24 hours of receiving your order, including clear photos of the product, full description of the issue, and your order number. The matter will be assessed, and adequate compensation provided.
  • Plants cannot be returned, in case the plants are returned no refund will be given.

FAQ

Most plants can be directly in the garden. Keep the site weed free until the plants are well established and water daily until established but don’t overwater! Dig the hole at least twice the width and depth of the pot, backfill with lose soil and gently tap around the plant. Mulch around the plant, but not with tree mulch for most of the specimens.

We send out at the beginning of the week unless announced differently. The Express post 24 hour guarantee is suspended but plants can be still shipped safely.

Our plants are not certified organic, because this is a huge process, unsuitable for our little nursery. But we do not spray any toxins (we try to do biodynamic brews and compost brews though). We do not use weed killers and other nasties either.

No. Our plants are hardy and tough and grown in the open. Occasionally we start seeds under cover and we do start our cuttings under cover. But until the plants reach your garden they have seen storms, cold, heat and maybe snow.

The pot sizes are given in the description of each plant. They might vary slightly though, because we try to reuse and recycle as many pots as we can.

Yes we do, but only if you have something medicinal, edible or super exciting. Please have a look at the plants we already have! I don’t swap for more of the same…
